Description

This is a classic red ITI telephone from the 1990s, never used and in working order. All the components are fixed to the base plate. There are two air vents in the base and the feet are press fit. The dial strip is whirled in a circular manner, starting at the lower right and anti-clockwise, while the terminal end of the strip is left unnumbered.
ITI is an imprint found on the handle of 300 type telephones. It stands for Indian Telephone Industries, a company established in 1948 with help from ATE - Automatic Telephone and Electric, Liverpool, England. Tooling for telephone no. 332 was exported to India and used to manufacture these telephones. The ITI phones were a well-made, well-finished design, with minor changes from their British predecessor to allow for India's needs and preferences.
