Description

Deccan teak, painted window beautifully carved in the Deccan confluence of Persian, Mughal and local traditions. The cusped arch is reminiscent of Mughal architecture, and the multiple door jambs of temple architecture. Above this are two carved parakeets, and down the sides are columns carved so that they free stand from the main frame. Around the sides are floral motifs, and everything is painted, revealing the layers of history this window has lived through.
