Zakkir Husain
ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Based in Kochi, Kerala, artist Zakkir Husain’s art offers a vibrant and colourful reflection of the relationship between man and nature. Engaging and dynamic, Husain’s mixed media works are a representation of a variety of images and influences, such as visual news media, objects, shops, streets, and smells.
Hussain has won multiple awards for his work, including the All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society Award in 2001, and the Kerala Lalit Kala Akademi Award in 2000. He has had many successful solo exhibitions in India and abroad, and was a part of 'Open Studio', a two-month residency and exhibition at Navaratna Apartment, Bangalore, in 2003.
