Description
Brass Nandi vahana from Mysore. The piece is unusual because Nandi is shown in a kneeling posture, which is usually how Garuda is depicted. Nandi is the sacred bull, gatekeeper, and vehicle or vahana of the God Shiva. There are two holes at the base, for it to be attached to the palanquin when taken out in processions.
