Description

Buddhism is the predominant religion of nearly 90% people in Burma or Myanmar, a country known worldwide for its traditional arts and crafts. And so, a hand-carved Burmese Buddha from the early 20th century is indeed a collectors' pride. As the story goes, Gautama attained Nirvana and became Buddha under the Bodhi Tree, and his calm pose in this statue seems to capture this very sentiment.
