  • ABOUT Abhigna Kedia

Emerging artist Abhigna Kedia has created a distinct identity for herself in the niche of resin art in India. Passionate about sketching and painting since childhood, Abhigna completed her Bachelor’s in Visual Arts from Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore, following which she acquired an Advanced Diploma in Art and Design from the Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology. This was where she first explored the medium of resin, in which she found her calling.

Abhigna Kedia uses acrylic paints, alcohol ink, pen and pigments to create visually stunning and evocative artworks. Her paintings consist of seven to ten layers of resin sourced from abroad, giving them the shine or polish that enhances the beauty of each piece. The Line Art and Pointillism movement has significantly influenced Abhigna’s work, and Jackson Pollock, one of the founding fathers of the abstract expressionism movement, has been a huge inspiration. Music and poetry are also driving forces for her art, through which she expresses herself.

An ardent believer in the concept of energies, Abhigna Kedia’s work is deeply instinctive and emotional, reflecting her own nature. With multiple thoughts running through her mind at all times, Abhigna is easily distracted in everyday life. But she is at peace while painting, indulging nothing but the thought of what she wants to create. Through her abstract patterns and choice of colours, she portrays different emotions such as joy, love, freshness, contentment and completeness.

Abhigna’s art has been featured in several leading publications including Architect and Interiors India, Sakal Times and The Pioneer. She has participated in multiple exhibitions and art fairs in India as well as abroad, including World Art Dubai 2019. The artist lives and works in Bangalore.
