ABOUT Madhvi Parekh
Born in 1942 in Sanjaya, Gujarat, Madhvi Parekh is a self-taught artist. Her paintings depict her childhood memories, where the images of fantasy and early days lend a surreal, dreamlike quality to her work. From 1970-72, she studied Fine Arts in Paris on a scholarship from the French Government.
Parekh’s works are inspired by rural India, but her style retains a contemporary twist. She has been exhibiting her work all over the world since 1972. In 1979, she received the National Award from the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, soon after which she completed a Residency fellowship at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts. She received the Whirlpool Women’s Achievement Award in the field of Fine Art in 2003.

ABOUT Limited Edition Prints
Limited Edition Prints are a series of identical prints of an artwork, commissioned by the artist. Restricted to a one-time printing of a certain number of pieces, each print is numbered and signed by the artist, establishing its’ authenticity.
Because the number of prints is limited, signed prints of acclaimed artists hold value, and can be investment-worthy, just like original works of art. Christie’s and Sotheby’s – the world’s two most renowned auction houses – hold auctions exclusively for prints. A Pablo Picasso print sold for US$1.7 million in 2010!
There are different techniques in printmaking, including offset printing, digital printing, giclée, lithography and serigraphy. Serigraphy, or silk screen printing is considered one of the most sophisticated techniques. In this process, thick, opaque colours are passed through the screen, creating prints with vibrant colours and beautiful textures, that make the artwork look like a painting.
Works by any artist are limited, and prints are a fantastic way for acclaimed artists, to make their art available to a larger number of people. This makes limited edition prints popular amongst new art buyers as well as seasoned art collectors.

ABOUT Test Page
Born in 1965 in the small coastal town of Udupi in Karnataka, Gurudas Shenoy is an acclaimed artist with a career spanning over three decades. Having been born to senior artist G.S. Shenoy, he lived and breathed art since the day he was born, and developed a passion for the colours of nature at an early age. M.F. Husain, a close friend of his father's, was a mentor, and has hugely inspired Gurudas Shenoy's journey as an artist. He has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in 200+ group shows at leading art galleries in India, including several at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai.
Known for his abstract and vibrant cityscapes, Gurudas Shenoy graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M.S. University, Baroda in 1988. Shenoy’s passion for nature and its brilliant hues, and cities with their vibrancy and multitude of stories, reflects in his paintings. Dexterous use of colours, lines, light and textures, forms the crux of his stunning abstract cityscapes, capturing the dynamism of architectural spaces with their historicity. Gurudas Shenoy also revisits landscapes from the past - vast abstract terrains, with their undulating surfaces and shadows on the ground. While his medium of choice is oil on canvas, the award-winning artist has a fondness for watercolours, and after much experimentation, he has managed to create a watercolour-like lightness in his oil paintings.
