An exquisite and rare collectible, this dancer's belt in brass is an old piece from North Karnataka. It would have been used in ritual dances by the Veerabhadra cult. Veerabhadra is a fearsome form of the Hindu God, Shiva, created when Daksha's daughter and Shiva's consort, Sati, self-immolated in the sacrificial fire. In the belt, some of the hanging brass trinkets are missing.
