  • ABOUT Kandi Narsimlu

Kandi Narsimlu is a Hyderabad based artist, known for his realistic portrayal of life in rural Telangana. His poignant paintings of rustic village scenes and people, rich in emotion and detail, reflect a quintessential Indian flavour, with their references to culture, tradition and lifestyle. The different coloured faces that Narsimlu often paints on his clear-eyed, yet mysterious subjects, represent tolerance and indiscrimination. The artist is also known for his fibreglass sculptures.

Born in 1972, Kandi Narsimlu completed a BFA from the College of Fine Arts & Architecture, JNT University, Hyderabad, and an MFA from the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture & Fine Arts University, Hyderabad. An accomplished artist, he has had several solo shows and over 35 group exhibitions in cities across India, including Hyderabad, Bangalore, New Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. Kandi Narsimlu has also participated in several art camps held by notable institutions like the Salarjung Museum (in association with the British Council), and the Marriott Hotel in Hyderabad. A recipient of several awards, including a gold medal from The Hyderabad Art Society in 2011, Narsimlu’s works are in several prestigious private and public collections including the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad and the State Bank of India, Hyderabad.
