Artisera, in association with Emami Chisel Art, presents ‘Songs of Amity’, a solo exhibition of paintings by eminent artist BRATIN KHAN. Through ‘Songs of Amity’, Bratin Khan protests the violence, hatred and negativity that exists in the world today. Blurring the lines of religion, caste and creed, the artist uses soothing colours and his imagination, to spread the message of tolerance, unity and peace.
A graduate from the prestigious Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan, Bratin Khan is heavily influenced by the Bengal school of art, evident in the way he handles line and colour. Inspired by Indian mythology, religion and folk lore, Khan paints beautiful and calming canvases that exude a light from within. His figures are graceful and free-flowing, and nature is abundant in his paintings, reminiscent of his childhood in rural Bengal. Bratin Khan’s paintings can be found in the collections of prestigious private and corporate collectors around the world. The artist lives and works in Kolkata.
