Soma Das
ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Indian Miniature paintings are the main inspiration behind the colourful creations of emerging artist Soma Das. The society and way of life during the Mughal rule, has created a lasting impression on the artist, who completed her BVA (2007) and MFA (2009) from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. At the same time, Soma Das is also impacted by present day society, her environment and the day to day lives of people that surround her. Her paintings portray human beings and their varied natures in subdued colours, making her creations more expressive. Soma Das loves painting humans in varied situations, and each of her creations depict a unique emotion conveying the artist’s thoughts.
