Renuka Rajiv


Renuka Rajiv is an Indian contemporary artist based in Bangalore. She completed a Diploma in Digital Video Production from the Srishti School of Design, Bangalore in 2007, and then completed a BFA in Printmaking from Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), Melbourne.

Largely drawing-centric, her works are a blend of her observations and her imagination. She incorporates watercolour, pen, ink, text, collage into her works, most of which are inspired by people and events. Witty, humorous and sarcastic, Rajiv’s art works and prints have been a part of numerous solo and group exhibitions in India and abroad. She was an artist-in-residence at CONA, Mumbai, funded by the INLAKS Shivdasani Foundation in 2014. She has received the City of Stonington Print Prize and the NGV Women’s Association Prize in 2010, as well as the Substation Travelling Exhibition Prize in 2011. In 2016, The Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art announced Renuka Rajiv as the winner of the FICA Emerging Artist Award 2016.
