Manish Moitra
ABOUT THE COLLECTION
A graduate of Rabindra Bharati University, artist Manish Moitra’s paintings are mainly post-modern, but reflect the influences of numerous other styles. A major inspiration for the artist is French painter Henry Matisse. Moitra’s vibrant artworks represent the incongruence in urban homes and spaces, with meticulous detailing and quirky concepts.
Manish Moitra has participated in numerous exhibitions in India. His themes are close to nature, but the paintings are interspersed with snapshots of urban lifestyles. Done in the style of miniature paintings, his art deviates from the traditional and takes on a character which is contemporary, original and inherently his own.
