ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Jiban Biswas, born in 1982, received his Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts from the Government College of Arts and Crafts in Kolkata. His works are reminiscent of his childhood and his close relationship with memories from then - his village, its people, its cattle–brigade, and even the very familiar wandering bull ‘Bhola’ with its lonely eyes and masculine foot prints. Biswas's works have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions in Chennai, London, Amsterdam, Goa, Bangalore, Kolkata, New Delhi and Mumbai. In 2003, Biswas was awarded the Ravi Jain Memorial Scholarship.
