Born in 1970, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Jagannath Panda is a contemporary Indian artist, known for his detailed mixed-media paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Mixing mythology with reality, and traditional Indian art motifs with images from Western and Indian contemporary culture, Jagannath Panda’s art is an attempt to explore the effects of globalization and rapid development on his country.

In 1997, he was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Fukuoka University of Education, Japan. He also completed an MFA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art, London in 2002.
